From Mere Mortal to Olympian God
Hercules is the son of Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods, but was born a demigod and thus mortal.
Hercules’ extraordinary strength became apparent at one year old when he strangled two serpents sent by Hera to slay him. As a young adult, he joined Jason and his Argonauts on their quest to find the Golden Fleece of the winged ram Chrysomallos.
To prove himself worthy of immortality, and take his place among the Olympian gods, Zeus required Hercules to perform the Twelve Labors — A series of grueling, seemingly impossible tasks — ranging from slaying the invulnerable Nemean Lion, to rescuing his friend Theseus from the depths of the underworld.
Friends & Foes
Hercules became close friends with Thor Odinson when Thor saved Hercules from a life of eternal servitude. Hercules has teamed up by Thor’s side with the Avengers on many occasions. The two share a friendly rivalry in which they argue over which of them is stronger.
Hercules’ greatest nemesis is the Greek God of the Underworld, Pluto. He has also encountered plights against the likes of alien Skrulls, the subversive organization Hydra, as well as heroes who turned to evil ways. He’s always happy to help battle major threats as long as he can have a good time doing it!
Powers of a Demigod
Hercules’ greatest strength lies in exactly that — his godlike strength.
As the Olympian god of raw strength, Hercules is physically the strongest of all the existing Olympians, immeasurable by Marvel’s standard scale of measurement. His lifting and striking strength is comparable to that of the mighty Thor and incredible Hulk!
Like most Olympian gods, Hercules is immune to aging and conventional disease. He is virutally tireless, as his body produces no fatigue poisons. His body is highly durable, resisting most forms of impact, penetration, and energy assault. Although he can be wounded in battle, he cannot die by conventional means and has a rapid regeneration rate.
Hercules is an expert in traditional hand-to-hand combat, especially in wrestling. He is talented in many forms of Greek athletic feats such as discus and hammer throws. His immense leg strength enables him to perform a standing high jump of over 100 feet.
In MARVEL SNAP, his Herculean might is put on display by his ability:
